Dear minasoliman,
Interesting points you came up with, but let's be realistic. Do you think that people can get that kind of organisation in Egypt? Even if protests are organised, and muslims hear about them, it's a pie in the sky to think that the majority of muslims will join in to defend the Coptic case, even though their sympathy and support may be unprecedented. Secondly, if that really happens, the government can so easily foil such a thing before it even starts.
To raise Egyptian flags rather than Crosses is another thing I disagree with you about. You have to understand that the demonstration, or the march, or the protest, whatever you want to call it, was wholly and solely intended as a point-making mechanism for the Coptic case. So, naturally and understandably you would use the tools that convey that message. If muslims joined in and raised Egyptian flags, that is fine.... a totally perfect gesture from them, but from the Copts? I don't think so. I think the message should be so clear and conspicuous (and of course self-explanatory). That was a Coptic protest, not a solidarity event.
